Hello everyone,
I’ve been tracking the updates of the SG2042 processor and wanted to share some great news. As noted in the SG2042 Newsletter of February 14, 2025, GeekBench6 has been updated to support RVV1.0, making the SG2044 the world’s most powerful RISC-V processor.
Also, the SOPHGO RISC-V SoC Linux Kernel community mailing list has been created, inviting open-source contributions to help grow the RISC-V ecosystem.
In the domain of software compatibility, the RISC-V SIG team has even been able to run x86 architecture software on the Sophon SG2042 platform and the openKylin 2.0 RISC-V version system, such as apps like WeChat, WPS Office,
and Tencent Meeting.
Furthermore, TiDB has been successfully ported to the SG2042, the first to migrate an enterprise-grade distributed relational database on the RISC-V processor platform.
These developments highlight the quick development in generative ai pace and promise of the SG2042 processor in terms of both hardware performance and software flexibility.
Thank you,
Regards
joseph
